Her story

Jamila Lightfoot is a writer, speaker and storyteller from Las Vegas.

Her work explores motherhood, faith, identity and what it means to make a life through change.

Advocacy is a pillar of Jamila’s work—for women, the Black community, and now those living with Graves’ disease. Her own diagnosis taught her that radical change demands radical acceptance, inspiring her to help others make meaning of theirs: we don’t fight Graves, we learn to flow with it.

She writes 2:40 AM MOM and is a wife and mother of two. She is the founder of The JAM LV Open Mic.
